CEO Update, 17th October 2017

It’s now been two weeks since the elections and it feels like things are lining up for us to have a very interesting networking event on Thursday the 19th of October at the Grand Hall in the Parliament Buildings!  If you haven’t registered yet then please make sure to do so early as we wouldn’t want to turn anyone away.

You’ll see from our events calendar that there are a number of events for members from now till early December.  Of course, there’s the HiNZ Conference in Rotorua in early November and then we are holding the NZHIT AGM on the 23rd of November.  We’re very pleased that one of our newest members, BNZ Partners, are hosting us, which will also include our final main networking event of the year with the guest speaker being the BNZ’s Chief Economist, Tony Alexander.  Given the political situation it will be very interesting to get his take on how the economy is going to look over the next 3 years.

Many thanks to everyone who has provided great feedback on the new layout of this newsletter and the increased frequency.  We’re receiving excellent articles from members and stakeholders as it’s an excellent opportunity to showcase what’s happening in the sector.  Please don’t hesitate to send us articles, case studies, white papers, etc for inclusion.

You’ll see that the first article in this newsletter is about the MOH’s Digital Health Strategy process.  If you’re not already involved then please make sure you get engaged as this is a very important piece of work for everyone in the health and health IT sectors.  We’re seeing a fresh approach from the Ministry in this regard and it is an excellent way for us to demonstrate our support for the future of healthcare in New Zealand.  It’s like elections – you can’t complain afterwards if you haven’t voted (although many still do!).
