National Primary Care Data Service National Primary Care Data Service (1005 KB)

A Request for Expressions of Interest titled “National Primary Care Data Service” has been published on GETS. Responses are sought from vendors and/or vendor consortia to establish a data service that allows General Practice to support the primary care sector’s understanding of population health, quality improvement initiatives and health system planning. Whilst Primary Care Networks currently collect practice data individually, there is limited ability to combine this data with other national, regional or local datasets to support clear and meaningful changes that will improve the performance of the New Zealand health and social systems.

This Expression of Interest has been jointly funded by Primary Care Networks, with a view to gauging the capacity, capability, cost and feasibility of implementing a national data service for the sector.  The process, facilitated by Francis Health, aims to enable the selection of a vendor partner or consortium to work with the sector to progress the NPCDS into being a reality for New Zealand.

The EOI is available on GETS, published by Francis Health as an agent of Hutt Valley District Health Board. The closing date for submissions is December 13. If you’d like any further information please contact rosie.harty@francishealth.co.nz.
