Michael Bainbridge (APAC Clinical Engagement Lead for SNOMED International)
Over the last 30 years, Michael has worked for both Governments and Industry. He has designed and brought to market Clinical Computer Systems for Primary Care and worked with both BMA and UK Government in the 2003 negotiation of the Quality-based National General Practitioner Contract. Michael was a founder of and Technical Director of the UK National PRIMIS initiative delivering key educational and data quality interventions in UK General Practice and led the Clinical Architecture and Assistive Technology teams at NHS Connecting for Health delivering innovations in hardware design, and clinical interface design for both professionals and consumers. In his current role Michael continues to ‘evangelise’ safety and usability from Common Interface Components in both his consulting and academic roles. Michael is currently based in Sydney working on the Implementation of e-health and the shared record to support Healthcare Reform and has also have just become the Asia Pacific Clinical Engagement Lead for SNOMED International.
Aimed at the entire digital health community, this event represents an ideal opportunity to review and discuss the practical challenges encountered by the early adopters of HL7 FHIR and SNOMED CT in New Zealand and overseas. Among these pioneers will be those actively involved in localisations of these standards and representatives from the teams who competed in the recent “Developers on FHIR Challenge”.
