AY Technologies Launch TXT2Remind Enterprise for Hospitals
Posted: 11 June 2008

Mobile healthcare provider AY Technologies is proud to announce today the release of TXT2Remind Enterprise for hospitals. The much anticipated solution is the culmination of research and development efforts to facilitate the requirements of hospital outpatient clinic appointment reminders. The system has been developed based on success found throughout the primary health across general practices, specialists, and allied health professionals with the current version of TXT2Remind. The solution is engineered through a service oriented enterprise architecture suited for larger number of user’s, higher messaging volumes, and more seamless dynamic abilities of reminding scheduled patients via text-message.

The new enterprise version of TXT2Remind integrates with the patient management system consists of a number of solution components primarily including, the web portal for system administration and Appointment Reminder Automation service for patient text-message reminder automation (See the Enterprise Communication Architecture from brochure).

Automatic reminders are generated using an advanced xml-based “rule engine” that offers both simplicity and flexibility. To define an automatic reminder “rule”, the TXT2remind administrator defines few distinct sets of criteria, Staff-related criteria set, Time-related criteria set, Time-scheduled criteria set (e.g. AM/PM), Template-related criteria set and Appointment related criteria set. Different rules can be created and assigned for different managed services offered by the hospital keeping all sent and received messages managed independently by each department. A centralised option can also be configured depending on requirements. In addition, the solution offers more distinctive features including originated messages, user management, reliable message delivery, message management and much more. "With over 150 practices and 500 users already utilizing TXT2Remind in the primary health sector" says Ahmad Jubbawey Managing Director of AY Technologies. "We have seen tremendous success with practices using TXT2Remind in reducing patient DNAs, communication costs, and time whilst simultaneously achieving greater responses. In analysing the secondary healthcare, hospitals tend to have high associated specialist outpatient clinic appointment no shows across all district health boards in New Zealand. Traditional methods of appointment reminders often do not achieve the desired outcome, labor intensive and has high associated costs. It was vital for us to listen to day-to-day clinical users requests for TXT2Remind Enterprise to ensure the solution address the need of patient communication for hospitals. The enterprise solution is dynamic in nature which we believe will allow us maximum flexibility in achieving any appointment reminder process requirement along with tailored implementation process."

AY Technologies plans to also release TXT2Remind Primary to existing and future practices in the primary healthcare sector. TXT2Remind Primary is a lightweight version of TXT2Remind Enterprise and AY Technologies will announce its release when it is in a position for mass rollout.
