The New Zealand Health IT Cluster is an industry grouping of New Zealand-based software and solution developers, consultants, health policy makers, health funders, infrastructure companies, healthcare providers and academic institutions.
The purpose of the Bulletin is to summarise news and information which either involves, or is of interest to, the New Zealand Health IT Cluster.

Welcome to the 23rd of February e-Bulletin!

Health Management System Collective Request for Information - December 2008

The Health Management System Collective: Request for Information was issued on 22nd of December 2008. The Cluster wrote to all members bringing their attention to this RFI and requesting their feedback. In particular we sought their views on the potential impact on their organisation, the NZ health IT sector, and the NZ health sector.

The Cluster has presented the consolidated industry view to the Ministry of Health and the collective DHBs. A copy of the document is available on our website, here.

Collaborate 2 Innovate - Registration of Interest Now Closed

We would like to thank all our Cluster members that have responded to our Registration of Interest process. We are currently going through the process of evaluating the responses and working with the sponsoring organisations to assemble the project teams. We expect to be able to announce the project teams shortly.

New HINZ Study Award

Funding has been made available by HINZ to support postgraduate students in health informatics. "It's important that we encourage people who want to develop their health informatics capability, and helping them defray the costs of enrolling in health informatics courses is one of the best ways of doing this", says Prof Jim Warren, HINZ Chair. HINZ is doing just that with the new HINZ Study Award that covers up to the full enrolment fees of a course, a semester for a masters dissertation or a year of PhD study. To find out more (and to apply for the Award), download the application form from here.
