Digital Health Leadership Summit - March 2021

Health sector leaders told HiNZ they want regional events that give them the opportunity to meet other digital health leaders face-to-face, with an event format that could complies with Covid alert levels and is low cost to attend. The Leadership Summit is designed to facilitate collaboration and leadership in what has been a momentous year for data and digital health. These regional events come at an ideal time for healthcare leaders to reflect on recent events and consider next steps in New Zealand's digital health transformation.

One event - three locations

The Digital Health Leadership Summit will be repeated in three different cities:

  • Monday 22 March 2021 – WELLINGTON at Te Papa
  • Wednesday 24 March 2021 – CHRISTCHURCH at Rydges Latimer
  • Friday 26 March 2021 – AUCKLAND at ASB Showgrounds

Engaging discussion format

Each Summit will run from 9am to 5pm, followed by a relaxed networking event from 5pm to 7pm.

The main plenary room will be set up with round tables and ten seats per table. Each table will have a different discussion topic. Approximately every 45 minutes he will announce the start of a new discussion round. Delegates will stand up and move to another table, selecting another topic they are interested in discussing and sitting at the table that is discussing that particular topic. It’s like ‘musical chairs’ for grownups!

There will be two keynote speakers at each summit:

  • Shayne Hunter, Deputy Director General of Data and Digital, Ministry of Health (Speaking at summits in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch)
  • Dr Lloyd McCann, Chief Executive Officer, Mercy Radiology and Clinics; Head of Digital Health, Healthcare Holdings (Speaking at Auckland summit)

Each delegate will have the opportunity to visit approximately six discussion tables throughout the day, based on which topics are of most interest to them. Rotating seats will enable you to easily make new connections and generate new ideas.

There will be plenty of opportunities to network with other delegates during am/pm tea and lunch in the catering area; and the event will conclude with a networking function with snacks and beverages from 5-7pm.

There will be a small exhibition beside the catering in the Auckland and Wellington venues.
